Why You Should Visit Sri Lanka
Sri Lanka is an incredible safari destination and its compact size allows visitors to combine thrilling wildlife adventures with stunning beaches, cultural heritage and luxury lodges. Home to majestic elephants, elusive leopards, sloth bears, crocodiles and an astonishing variety of bird species.

Yala National Park is world-famous for having the highest density of leopards, while Udawalawe is one of the best places in Asia to see elephants up close. Minneriya hosts the spectacular Elephant Gathering, where hundreds of elephants congregate near the reservoir.

The best time to visit Sri Lanka depends on which part of the island you want to explore, as the country experiences two monsoon seasons. For the west and south coasts - including Sigiriya, Kandy and Dambulla - the best time is from December to April, when the weather is warm and dry. Meanwhile, the east coast enjoys its best weather from May to September, making it perfect for beach lovers and surfers.
If you’re planning a wildlife safari, August and September are ideal for spotting elephants at the Minneriya Elephant Gathering, while Yala National Park is best visited from February to June when the chances of seeing leopards are highest.
