Why You Should Visit Rwanda and Uganda
Rwanda and Uganda are two of only three places on earth where you can see the endangered mountain gorillas in their natural habitat. Your trek observing the gorillas is fascinating and rewarding but will probably leave you wanting more, which is why we recommend a second trek. Gorilla trekking permits are strictly limited so we will need to plan in advance. Both countries are also home to healthy populations of chimpanzees. Beyond the primates, there are wildlife parks, lakes, mountains, forests, rivers and incredibly beautiful scenery.

Gorilla and chimpanzee trekking are year round activities, however we recommend you plan your visit during the two dry seasons from June to September and again from mid-December to February. We suggest you avoid March to May if you can, the rains are heavy and persistent and the treks can be steep and muddy. Game viewing in the parks is best during the dry seasons, particularly towards the end of the seasons. November to April is great for birdwatching.

Rwanda and Uganda Safari Itinerary
This is a popular trip when looking for a safari adventure in Rwanda and Uganda. However, each and every trip planned with Revells Travel can be tailored exactly to who you are and what you want to do.
Day 1: Depart from the UK & Arrive in Entebbe
Fly from the UK to Entebbe, Uganda. After your arrival, you will be transferred to your accommodation for an overnight stay. This is your chance to rest and prepare for the exciting adventure ahead.
Day 2-3: Entebbe to Murchison Falls National Park
Travel by road to Murchison Falls National Park with your knowledgeable driver-guide. En route, stop at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for a guided walk, where you can see the endangered white rhinos up close. Continue your journey to Murchison Falls, where you'll spend two nights in the park. Enjoy thrilling game drives along the Nile River, spotting a variety of wildlife, including lions, buffalo, elephants, and the striking Rothschild giraffes. Continue your adventure with a boat cruise to the base of Murchison Falls, where the Nile River forces its way through a narrow gorge, creating a spectacular waterfall.
Day 4-5: Murchison Falls to Kibale Forest Reserve
Drive to Kibale Forest Reserve, home to one of the largest populations of chimpanzees in East Africa. Spend two nights in the reserve, and take part in a thrilling trek to see chimpanzees in their natural habitat. Along the way, you'll encounter other primates such as monkeys and baboons, as well as a variety of birds and insects. This experience offers a fascinating glimpse into the lives of our closest relatives in the animal kingdom.
Day 6-7: Kibale to Queen Elizabeth National Park
After your chimpanzee trek, continue to Queen Elizabeth National Park, where you'll spend two nights. The park is famous for its diverse wildlife and beautiful landscapes. Enjoy game drives in search of elephants, lions, and hippos. A boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel will offer fantastic wildlife viewing, where you can spot Nile crocodiles, hippos, and a rich variety of birdlife, including waterbirds and migratory species.
​Day 8-10: Queen Elizabeth to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Next, travel to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, home to the endangered mountain gorillas. Spend three nights in the area to track these majestic creatures. The trek through dense forest can be steep and strenuous, but once you reach the gorillas, the experience is nothing short of magical. Spending time with these gentle giants is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. During your stay, you can also explore the surrounding forest, enjoy birdwatching, or visit the Batwa tribe to learn about their traditional way of life.
Day 11: Return to Entebbe & Fly Back to the UK
After your gorilla trekking adventure, fly back to Entebbe. Depending on your schedule, you may choose to continue your holiday or return home. This sample itinerary can be personalised to your requirements. Book early for gorilla permits.
