This is a popular trip when looking for a safari adventure in Namibia. However, each and every trip planned with Revells Travel can be tailored exactly to who you are and what you want to do.

Day 1: Depart the UK & Arrive in Windhoek

Fly from the UK to Windhoek, Namibia’s capital. On arrival, you will be greeted by your local guide and transferred to your accommodation. Relax and prepare for the adventure ahead.

Day 2-3: Windhoek to Namib Desert

Begin your journey in Windhoek, travelling through the stunning Khomas Hochland highlands to the famous Namib Desert. Stay for two nights in a lodge or camp located amidst the desert landscapes. Explore the apricot-colored dunes of Sossusvlei, the vast white clay pans, and the impressive Sesriem Canyon. These unique desert formations provide incredible photographic opportunities, especially at sunrise and sunset when the colors of the dunes are at their most dramatic.

Day 3-4: Namib Desert to Swakopmund

Next, drive through the Gaub and Kuiseb Canyons to the Atlantic coast at Walvis Bay. Stay for two nights in a charming coastal town, known for its German influence. Spend your time exploring the unique architecture and coastal landscapes. On a guided sea kayaking trip, spot seals and dolphins in the Atlantic Ocean, or take part in optional activities like quad biking or sandboarding. This coastal town offers a perfect mix of adventure and cultural discovery.

Day 5-6: Swakopmund to Damaraland

Head north to Damaraland, known for its dramatic rock formations and ancient history. Visit the UNESCO World Heritage site of Twyfelfontein, home to some of the world’s oldest rock engravings. Embark on a thrilling 4x4 adventure to track desert-adapted elephants, a rare and incredible wildlife experience. Stay for two nights in a luxurious camp or lodge set among the stunning rock formations, offering an authentic and peaceful desert experience.

Day 7-9: Damaraland to Etosha National Park

Continue to Etosha National Park, one of Africa’s greatest wildlife reserves. Spend three nights at a lodge or tented camp in a private reserve bordering the park. Enjoy game drives in both the private reserve and Etosha National Park. With its expansive salt pans and waterholes, Etosha provides fantastic opportunities to spot the Big Five—lions, elephants, rhinos, leopards, and buffalo—along with giraffes, cheetahs, and numerous other species. The park is also famous for its exceptional birdlife, including flamingos at the seasonal wetlands.

Day 10: Etosha to Windhoek

On your return to Windhoek, stop for a visit to the AfriCat Day Centre, dedicated to the conservation of Namibia’s big cats, including cheetahs and leopards. Learn about the important conservation efforts in Namibia before transferring to the airport for your late afternoon flight back to the UK.
